This is an aftermarket shaft only that fits spindle assemblies 618-0574, 918-0574, 618-0565, and 918-0565. Used on 42″ later model 600 series MTD mowers. If your shaft is damaged and the bearings, pulley, and housing are OK then save by only replacing the shaft. The manufacturer does not have a part number nor sell the shaft only, they want to sell you the whole spindle. This works well in the FSP spindle, has a slightly different star design (copyright issue?) but will accommodate the MTD 6 poi
